Dr. Milne is a native St. Louisan who returned to St. Louis in August 2003 to bring world class training and experience to athletes, workers, and active individuals in the Midwestern United States.
He is fellowship trained in knee and shoulder surgery and in the treatment of sports related injuries. He has special interest in advanced arthroscopic techniques, the treatment of arthritis and alternatives to joint replacement surgery.
His expertise is in arthroscopic and reconstructive surgery of the knee and shoulder and treatment of athletic injuries. He is current team physician for several area college and high school athletic programs and was previously affiliated during his fellowship with the Denver Broncos, the Colorado Rockies, the US Ski Team. He continues to treat professional, college, high school and recreational athletes.
He also has extensive experience in the treatment of industrial injuries of the knee and shoulder and workman's compensation injuries.
A double major graduate of Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas, Dr. Milne was involved in the Student Senate and the winner of several prestigious scholarships at SMU. He also studied Economics at the world famous London School of Economics in London, England.
As a medical student at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, Texas, he was elected as American Medical Association Delegate and to the Medical School Admissions committee.
After his general surgery and orthopedic surgery training at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, Texas, he was awarded the prestigious orthopedic Sports Medicine Fellowship at the internationally famous Steadman-Hawkins Clinic in Vail, Colorado where he trained under Dr. Richard Steadman and Dr. Richard Hawkins in knee and shoulder surgery.
Dr. Milne has recently contributed the shoulder chapter to the American College of Sports Medicine "Expert's Guide to Sports Medicine". He continues to teach nationally regarding arthroscopic shoulder surgery and is a frequent speaker at regional and national and meetings. He is board certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery, and a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, and American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the St. Louis Sports Commission.
