We would like to thank you for your interest in Dr. Milne for your medical care. We strive to make your experience with us as pleasant as possible, and would welcome your comments or suggestions.
To schedule an appointment, you may call Dr. Milne's office, Monday through Friday 8:30 to 4:30 at 314-392-5001.
Because of a high volume of patients that request to see Dr. Milne, we ask that if you need to reschedule your appointment, that you please give us 24 hrs notice.
For those patients and athletes who are traveling from outside the St. Louis area, we have the following suggestions: A map link to the Clinic is available on this page of the website. The office is within 25 minutes from Lambert International Airport in St. Louis. Please bring ALL pertinent medical records, x-rays or scans for Dr. Milne to review at the time of your visit.
OFFICE VISIT
It will greatly facilitate your office visit if your medical history and billing paperwork are completed ahead of time. Please arrive at the office fifteen minutes prior to your scheduled appointment.
Please realize that our office practice is very busy. We do the best we can to be punctual, but it is impossible to anticipate the complexity of each patient's problem on the front end. Therefore, each allotted appointment time is an estimate of the average amount of time that it takes. Please be considerate of this, and realize we are working as hard as we can to remain punctual in our office practice.
Your initial encounter will be with Dr. Milne's Physician Assistant, Chad Schmitz PA-C. She will interview you and do a brief physical exam in order to narrow down the focus of the problem, and then order appropriate x-rays so that Dr. Milne will have these available at the time of his evaluation of your problem. Certain minor procedures, such as dressing changes, suture removal, and certain injections, may be performed by our experienced Physician's Assistant. This service is available to prevent an unnecessary delay in obtaining an appointment to see Dr. Milne.

MEDICAL RECORDS/FORMS
If you require a copy of your medical records or x-rays, you may call Stephanie at the office. In order to release your medical records or x-rays, you must provide a written request with your signature. This written request can be provided through a fax at 314-336-2653. Please allow 5-7 days to process your request.
Any special forms you may require can be mailed to the office. The address is:

You may also bring any forms to the office or send it via fax at 314-336-2653. The forms are completed by Dr. Milne's staff. Due to the sheer volume of forms submitted to our office for completion, a $15.00 payment will be due when your form is completed. Please allow 10 days to process your request.
INSURANCE
For any questions or concerns relating to your insurance plan or current claims, please contact Dr. Milne's outside billing company, Arch Medical Billing at 314-487-7215. To facilitate the smooth processing of your claims we ask that you keep these few tips in mind:
It is your responsibility to check your insurance benefits and to confirm whether Dr. Milne is a participating or non-participating provider for your plan. We deal with thousands of carriers and policies and request that the patient confirm this. If Dr. Milne is not in your network, you can still seek his consultation and/or surgical care. You might be subject to a higher payment obligation according to the terms of your insurance contract. If this creates a financial hardship for you, then you can submit a request for special consideration of your financial obligation. This should be sent through Wendy.
If you are bringing your child in for a school related athletic injury, your school system may have an insurance policy on your child to help cover your claim. Please call your school system to check on any coverage you may have and please bring this information to your appointment, as well as, any secondary insurance you may have on your child.

SURGERY
Dr. Milne's surgery days are Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Once you have decided for surgical treatment of your problem, you may call Wendy Wertel at 314-392-5001 to schedule your surgery. If you have a specific day in mind, please allow 2-4 weeks advance notice to attempt to fulfill your request. All aspects of your surgery scheduling will be handled by Wendy including the precertification of your surgery with the insurance company. If you are scheduling your surgery in person, you will be given a packet with instructions for your surgery, as well as a map to the surgery center or hospital where you will be having your operation. If you are scheduling your surgery by phone or via email, the packet with your surgery instructions and directions will be mailed to you. All surgeries are performed by Dr. Milne himself. Dr. Milne's Physician's Assistant, Chad Schmitz PA-C assists him in surgery as well as an experienced team of operating room nurses that have worked extensively with Dr. Milne on his cases. After your surgery, Dr. Milne will speak with both you and your family. Someone from our office or the surgery center will call you at home the following day to see how you are progressing. You will be given written instructions regarding following appointments.
Sometimes Dr. Milne has identified a local or national surgeon who is more specialized or proficient in the procedure or surgery that a patient may need. In these cases where Dr. Milne feels a referral is in the patient's best interest he will refer the patient to this surgeon or facility. This is in line with his philosophy of "always acting in the patient's best interest, no matter what."

Financial Disclosure
You are hereby notified that Dr. Milne has a minority ownership interest in some of the facilities where he operates or orders imaging testing. He has no financial interest in any hospital or physical therapy provider and is in compliance with all state and federal legislation in this area.
You have complete freedom of choice as you select your providers and facilities. We only operate or make referrals to facilities which we ourselves or our own families have or would have procedures or testing done. We would be happy to provide you with the names of other service providers if you would prefer.
