Where are you located?
The Orthopedic Center of St. Louis is located at 14825 N Outer Forty Rd. Suite 200 in Chesterfield. For directions, please see Office Information.
What are your office hours?
Our office hours are Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
What days does Dr. Milne see patients?
General orthopedic patients are seen on Monday afternoons and all day on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Dr. Milne performs surgeries all day on Wednesdays and Fridays, and occasionally on Monday mornings.
What patient information forms need to be completed?
We do everything we can to minimize paperwork at our office. Several forms need to be completed and brought with you to your appointment, including a registration form, health history forms, and consent forms. Click here to download and print these forms so you may expedite your time at our office.
What insurances do you accept?
We accept most major carriers and are out of network providers for nearly all plans with the benefits. It is your responsibility to check your insurance benefits and to confirm whether Dr. Milne is a participating or non-participating provider for your plan. We deal with thousands of carriers and policies and request that the patient confirm this. If you have any questions, our billing staff would be happy to assist you. Do you treat out of network patients?
Yes, if our office is not in your insurance network, you are welcome for a consultation and/or surgical care with Dr. Milne. You may be subject to a higher payment obligation according to the terms of your insurance contract. If this creates a financial hardship for you, then you can submit a request for special consideration of your financial obligation. This should be sent through Wendy.
Does Dr. Milne accept Medicare?
Dr. Milne is not a contracted provider for Medicare at this time.
How do I schedule an appointment?
To schedule an appointment, please call Dr. Milne's office Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at 314-392-5001, or fill out our online appointment form and we will contact you by the next business day.
How far in advance should I make an appointment?
You should call to make an appointment as soon as you know you are ready to see Dr. Milne. We work hard to accommodate all of our patients and will give you appointment options as soon as possible.
What should I do if I find it necessary to cancel my appointment?
We ask that if you need to reschedule or cancel your appointment, that you please give us 24 hours notice. This frees up time to see other patients that are waiting for appointments. Please call our office Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
What is your policy for releasing my medical records?
We can provide you with a written request informing us where you want your information to be sent in full compliance with HIPAA and federal privacy guidelines.
Does Dr. Milne have a specialty?
Dr. Milne's expertise is in arthroscopic and reconstructive surgery of the knee and shoulder and treatment of athletic injuries. He also has extensive experience in the treatment of industrial injuries of the knee and shoulder and worker's compensation injuries. He is board certified and fellowship trained in these areas.
Does Dr. Milne treat other areas in addition to knee and shoulder injuries?

Where does Dr. Milne operate?
Dr. Milne operates most frequently at ambulatory surgery centers. He also has privileges at Missouri Baptist, Des Peres Hospital, and Barnes West County Hospital.
How long has Dr. Milne been in practice?
Dr. Milne finished his residency at Parkland Hospital in Dallas in 2002 and then went on for fellowship training at the Steadman-Hawkins Clinic and Sports Medicine Foundation in Vail, Colorado. He moved back to St. Louis in 2003 and has been in private practice since that time.
How much physical therapy will I need after surgery?
This depends on the procedure. Frequently, 2 times a week for 3 weeks to 3 months.
What can I expect after my surgery?
You are encouraged to rest and recuperate in the first couple of days following surgery. Each surgical case is different and post-op instructions should be discussed with Dr. Milne and the surgical staff. All patients go home with written home instructions.
Where does Dr. Milne recommend for therapy?
Dr. Milne will recommend a good physical therapist close to home and convenient for the patient. He gives written instructions to the therapist and monitors your rehab closely.
How are medication renewals handled by the office?
For a medication renewal, you may contact our office and provide us with the name and contact information for your pharmacy. You can also choose to have your pharmacy contact us directly. Refill requests received at night or on weekends will be addressed the following business day.
Does Dr. Milne treat work related injuries?
Yes, Dr. Milne and his team understand the needs of those who are injured on the job. He is an experienced workers' compensation provider with extensive experience in the treatment of industrial injuries of the knee and shoulder.
What services does Dr. Milne provide for workers' compensation?
Dr. Milne is available to provide appointments immediately for evaluation and treatment, independent medical evaluations (IME's), as well as second opinions. Dr. Milne and his staff are dedicated to helping injured workers reach full recovery and getting them back to life and work as quickly and safely as possible.
